“I liked everything but the learning.”

- Quoted from a child enrolled in one of our summer camps.

“We had bread and butter for a snack. It’s better than the bread and butter I eat at home!

- During our Michigan History Alive summer camp, the campers made their own home-made Irish Soda Bread and home-made butter from cream (Shake, shake, shake in a jar).

Hi Angela,
I wanted to send you a quick note to say thank you to you and your staff for hosting the Frankenmuth Jaycees on Sunday. We had a great time! Your staff was very pleasant and helpful. Many of the people that attended had never been to the Children’s Museum before and they really enjoyed it. Hopefully they will tell others about their great experiences too. The only bad thing was trying to get our children to leave!

Thanks again for your hospitality!

- Amy

Please provide explanations on the exhibits, so that the kids can learn about what is happening, and not just observe.

Some of the exhibits were not working and there could have been more instruction at the exhibits to help the children to know what to do and why!

- Unfortunately for places like the MMCM that have a high volume of traffic, there is sure to be breakage of exhibits and gallery elements from time to time. The MMCM makes every effort to repair or replace broken items in a quick and timely manner. In addition, the MMCM is in the process of creating a detailed list of exhibits and projects that can be utilized in each of our galleries.

Our troop loved your museum. I was very impressed! This museum was just as nice as the children’s museum in Chicago.

Thanks for being so open to suggestions. A snack bar or vending machine would be great!

Since this feedback was submitted, we have added a beverage vending machine and snacks for sale in our gift shop.

The museum is first class. The exhibits are excellent!

Visit was great. Staff was great. Volunteers were great. The facilities were clean!!

Everyone there that morning was extremely helpful and so kind! We had the best time at your facility. We truly felt so welcomed! We were so happy to have our own room for snack time and a place to store our belongings. The exhibits were fantastic. The children are still talking about it!

We greatly enjoyed exploring and experiencing everything that the Museum had to offer. I thought it was reassuring to have helpful staff circulating to guide/help. Thank you for having us!

The children really enjoyed the water display!

Our party was awesome!!! My only suggestion would be to have a volunteer walk us back to the party room and give us a basic overview. We had never been there before and needed it! We will definitely be back. Thank you!

The MMCM strives to make your experience a successful one. We now have volunteers who help make sure birthday parties are running smoothly.

Birthday party was wonderful. Staff was great.

We had fun. Thank you.

My daughter misses the rubber ducks!!

I absolutely LOVE the Big Ball of String exhibit. Thank you.

Everyone there was wonderful. The children had a wonderful time and didn’t want to leave.

We love the museum and will be back — one of Saginaw’s best kept secrets — many out county families do not know about it!

More crafts available
More toddler books
Loved the string ball and storyteller

Since this feedback was submitted, we have added several more toddler books, as well as a daily craft.

Very nice time w/ birthday party, love the maze

Perfect sized museum! Students and parents thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

What a wonderful trip. We loved it J

We traveled here from Traverse City for a birthday party and will be back! Beautiful place!

MCCDC will visit your facility again!

What a wonderful place. People are already talking b-day parties and going back as families.

We loved visiting the museum! We are already talking about coming again next year. The kids and adults loved it, and had a great time.

Everyone was great! Great place to have a birthday party. Love the cleanliness!!

Thank you for the use of the lunchroom area — love all the windows.

My son enjoyed having his party at MMCM! We can’t wait to come back and play again! Thanks!

Great place for my daughter’s 6th birthday party! You do a great job.

Thank you for a wonderful time the kids are still talking about : )

Very impressed with sanitation and cleanliness. Will be back for more fun!

Thank you staff/volunteer for all your help the day of our visit! J

“Another group was there. It made it a little crowded.”

“It was nice having so few people at the museum (last year there were so many kids).”

The MMCM is open to the public, so there is no way of predicting how many people will be present. However, when groups are being scheduled, our receptionists now inform them of other groups visiting at the same time. We will gladly reschedule for a “slower” time if any time slots are available.

Great setup for a child’s birthday party. Since candles are not allowed, please provide recommendations to where to purchase flameless candles.

Unfortunately, the MMCM has had no luck finding flameless birthday candles locally; however, there are several websites you can check if you Google “Flameless Birthday Candles.”

“Reservation time of 3 hours would be better than 2 hours. Not enough time to do everything needed to do for birthday parties. Overall good.”

“Should have more leeway w/time to leave birthday room as it is difficult to be a good party hostess and be cleaning a room. Felt like I didn’t have enough time to socialize after 2 hour time limit especially on a Sunday when there were no parties after mine.”

Because of the high demand for weekend birthday parties, the MMCM must schedule a 2 hour time block for each party to accommodate all. Guests are allowed to stay in the museum until closing time if they wish, so it would be beneficial to conduct a party for the first two hours, then use the remainder of the time to “play.” Our receptionists also need time to clean the rooms and prepare them for the next party that day, or for a party coming in the following day.

This place was amazing. We all had a wonderful time. J

We were unaware of the dental presentation until it was too late. It would have been nice to know when we arrived so the children could have watched it.

The MMCM makes every effort to post any special events on our website, FaceBook page, library calendar, MLive calendar, community publications, and via email updates. Please submit your email address to us, or join us on FaceBook for current updates.

“I’m 13 and I think it would be nice to see some sort of teen exhibits like the children’s.”

“I think you should put some older kid’s stuff like a mini rock wall or a mini pool.”

The MMCM was developed for children ages birth to 12 years. Unfortunately, that would not include exhibits for teens. However, we hope our younger visitors are pleased with their experience.

Everyone was extremely helpful, we had a GREAT time!

“We had a wonderful time today! We would like to thank the staff for making our first experience a great one! We will see you next year.”

On behalf of the Great Start Collaborative and Parent Coalition, we want to thank you for your collaboration to make the October 23 Legislative Forum a great success!  We value the partnership with the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum and look forward to working together on future projects!

Kudos to the wonderful Ms Nancy Kaufman for her efforts organizing and managing the Diva Girl event today ……
She was like the ‘energizer bunny’ – here, there, everywhere !
Nonstop ! It worked ! So many happy smiling kids !

The person checking us in was A-MAZING and helpful!  Loved the parachute.  The P.A. System really helped.  We felt bad going past closing.  Sorry!!  90 minutes is not long enough.

Thank you for making our birthday celebration special!  Everyone really went above and beyond expectations!  Thank you!

We sent our 9 year old to your Spring Break camp today, wow she came home so excited and said she had an amazing day! I don’t think I’ve seen her this happy since last year at Cedar Point! Thank you for putting on an awesome day for kids:)

Thank you both as well as the entire MMCM staff for all your hard work and assistance in making Leadership Saginaw’s Arts & Culture Day a success!  Already looking forward to next year.

Regarding the MMCM’s 5th Birthday Celebration…

It seems like just yesterday ….  Happy Birthday!

I just wanted to take a minute and tell you what a great time we had at the museum on Wednesday!  The whole crew was great. It was our best field trip ever!   I was so happy that there was only one other small group coming on the same day.  The last two years our Laker students could not explore in the fashion they got to on Wednesday because of too many kiddos.

The retired teacher doing the parachute activity was awesome -

Thank you for a wonderful and fun time!

Many thanks for working with us to produce the popular “color our world” activity at the Tall Ships Celebration this year.  I’m confident you were able to introduce the children’s museum to thousands of people who didn’t know about your organization.  We hope to work with you again in 2016.

What a great night last night!!  Everything went so well.  Everyone I talked to had a great time.  Congratulations to you and the volunteers for constantly out doing yourselves!  I can’t wait to hear the results…

Ben

Good Morning Ladies,

Job well done!!! The event was amazing. Thank you to you and the entire group for putting on a spectacular showing. I heard many great comments about how terrific the museum looked. You do such an outstanding job every day and it shows!!! I think everyone had a super time. I can’t wait to hear the numbers.

Anne

Angela,

Please pass along my congratulations to your entire crew for another fun, fun, fun Arts from the Heart.  This is one of my favorite events to attend.  Hope it raised lots of money for MMCM!

Kudos to all,  Diane

Wonderful event last night!  Great job everyone!!

Thank you for allowing us to host the 2014 Covenant Kids Telethon there.  You all were absolutely wonderful to work with and we enjoyed our day in your beautiful facility……Heather, Covenant Kids Coordinator

I am appalled teachers have to pay.  Our district does not pay for it, so it comes out of pocket!  If it weren’t for teachers scheduling, you would not have these groups!

We appreciate your feedback.  Regular admission at the MMCM is $7 per person, including adults.  School groups get a discount and pay only $5 per person.  Periodically, we get grant money that helps to lessen field trip expenses as well.
