Become a Volunteer

The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum is looking for people with the skills and willingness to donate time to make our community’s children’s museum a success. We are looking to recruit as many volunteers as possible to serve in a wide variety of positions that will make the museum run smoothly and provide the best possible experience for each and every visitor. For more information, click here to view our brochure.

To become a volunteer, simply go to www.volunteermatch.org and sign up. You will be asked for your standard contact information, but you will also be able to identify your specific skills and availability for volunteer activities. As the need for volunteers comes up, MMCM will be able to look at the database based on the activity needs and find just the right volunteer. It’s free to sign up. You may also still email us at volunteer@midmicm.org, or print and complete the application form  and mail it to us at P.O. Box 2283, Saginaw, Michigan, 48605.

It is our policy that all volunteers complete a background check form before volunteering with us. Please complete the form and mail it to us, or you may provide the information needed via email at volunteer@midmicm.org.

Junior Docent Volunteer Program

A Junior Docent Volunteer will act as an assistant to children/families/groups to ensure that trips to the museum are fun, safe and enjoyed by all.  They may assist with face painting, water table activities, birthday parties, and special daytime events (i.e. Lego Party).  A junior Docent will help keep the museum tidy, assist museum staff as needed, and may perform demonstrations, plays, or share other family-friendly talents with the approval of museum management.

To volunteer as a Junior Docent, a student needs to:

1) be 13-14 years old

2) complete a brief application

3) have parent or guardian sign a consent form

4) attend a 60-minute orientation at the MMCM with a parent or guardian

5) enjoy young children, and have fun

If interested, please print and complete the  Junior Docent Application Form and mail it to us at P.O. Box 2283, Saginaw, Michigan, 48605.
